Follow up investigations after the 2001 Twin Towers explosions show a considerable number of asbestos related deaths in the Emergency First Responders. However, little (if any) work has been carried out on measuring asbestos fibre release during emergency works. This presentation will describe the preliminary findings of measurements taken when two properties with ACMs present were deliberately set on fire and First Responders attended the scenes.
